amarcord’s first recital at Paulinum

Post Image

Another premiere will take place on Friday 16 November, when we’ll be performing for the very first time at the Paulinum, St Paul’s University Church combined with an assembly hall in Leipzig. For the concert staged by Leipzig University’s Department of Music during the series Organ+, we’re teaming up with university organist Daniel Beilschmidt to devise a programme centred around Arvo Pärt. This Estonian composer is one of the most important and also one of the most popular creators of contemporary spiritual and religious music. We’ll be combining his works with compositions harbouring Arvo Pärt’s musical roots. Moreover, music by Josquin Desprez, Guillaume Dufay, Orlando di Lasso and Arnolt Schlick will be performed.
